Pitfalls

Three places fashion naming usually breaks.

The name is a mood board, not a brand.

Words like “Luxe”, “Muse”, “Aura”, “Atelier” and “Maison” can work, but two generic fashion words together produce a brand that nobody can remember after one scroll.

Collection names leak into brand names.

A name that works for one capsule may be too seasonal for the company. Keep collection vocabulary separate unless the whole brand will keep that direction for years.

The handle is the storefront.

For Instagram-first apparel, the domain may be secondary at launch, but the @handle is the address customers remember. Check it before printing labels.
